Numa época cada vez mais competitiva, a diminuição ou redução de atividades que não acrescentam valor para as empresas é cada vez mais essencial. Ter presente uma filosofia que passa pela melhoria contínua na procura de processos mais eficazes e eficientes é hoje em dia essencial para as empresas. Neste contexto, surge o trabalho desenvolvido no âmbito do mestrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial que se efetuou na empresa OLIVEIRA & IRMÂO, SA. Tem como tema a melhoria do processo de paletização de embalagens e redução de custos de transporte, temas que se destacam na área da logística. Neste sentido, é de salientar a pesquisa sobre a logística relacionada com a embalagem. O objetivo central do projeto passa pela melhoria da embalagem em palete e consequentemente da melhoria das cargas no transporte. Como meio para pesquisas futuras, de forma a melhorar o processo interno na empresa, surge a procura e a pesquisa de um software de paletização, que permita fazer este processo de forma mais eficiente.

Following a philosophy that involves the continuous improvement in the search of more efficient and effective processes is nowadays essential for businesses. In this context, the present work comes within the Masters in Industrial Engineering and Management at the company OLIVEIRA & IRMÃO, SA. The theme of this work is to improve the palletizing process of the products packaging and the reduce transportation costs, issues that stand out in the area of logistics. According to this, it is noteworthy the research on logistics related to packaging. The main objective of the project involves the improvement of pallet packaging and consequently improvement of transportation cargo. As a means for further research, in order to improve the internal process in the company, appears the demand and search for palletizing software that can make this process more efficient.
