Abstract

Descripción Cuando hablemos de Saneamiento en el Perú, debemos hacer referencia a dos derechos fundamentales del ser humano (Resolución A/RES/64/292. Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas. Julio de 2010): acceso al agua potable en cantidad y calidad suficiente y acceso al alcantarillado sanitario; aplicados ambos al ámbito urbano y rural. En plena época de pandemia por la COVID-19, en nuestro país 4 millones de personas no tienen acceso al agua potable y 8 millones al alcantarillado sanitario. Así mismo menos del 30% de las aguas residuales de las zonas urbanas son tratadas para ser descargadas a un cuerpo de agua superficial. En ese sentido, el curso de Saneamiento, que se imparte en la carrera de Ingeniería Civil de la UPC, tiene como objetivo proporcionar a sus egresados recursos teóricos y prácticos para que se encuentren en la capacidad de ayudar a cubrir la brecha actual que existe en nuestro país en cuanto a agua y saneamiento se refiere, en particular de los más necesitados, proporcionando un suministro de agua potable y saneamiento saludable, limpio, accesible y asequible para todos. Para cumplir ese objetivo, el curso se divide en cuatro unidades que abarcan el sistema de agua potable: fuente, captación, PTAP, línea de conducción, almacenamiento, línea de aducción y redes de distribución; y el sistema de alcantarillado sanitario: redes de recolección de aguas residuales (alcantarillado sanitario) y tratamiento de las aguas residuales.
