This talk covers the latest energy harvesting and wireless power transfer technologies for powering online monitoring systems in high-voltage transmission networks. The wireless domino power structure has been incorporated into high-voltage insulation string by embedding the coil-resonators inside the insulation discs. The new structure is the world's first that provides simultaneous high voltage insulation and wireless power transfer functions.
