Application of blueberry extracts to Alzheimer disease prevention

Abstract

The invention relates to an application of blueberry extracts to Alzheimer disease prevention. The effect that the blueberry extracts containing 25 percent total anthocyanin can effectively inhibit PC12 cell apoptosis caused by beta-amyloid protein and homocysteine is provided through in vitro experiments for the first time. The blueberry extracts can be further developed to be used for preventing Alzheimer diseases.
