研究經學與中國古代文學的關係,既不意味著提倡復古尊經,也不是對儒家經學進行聲討和清算,而是以平實的心態,本著尊重歷史、尊重事實的客觀態度,把它作為一種中國文學史上的重要現象來加以實事求是的探討。這本書從詩歌、散文、辭賦、史傳文學、民間文學、宋詞、小說戲曲七個方面,討論了經學與中國古代文學的關係,綱舉目張,別有創見,很適合經學、文學以及古代文化的研究者參考。
