Platinum-group elements (PGE) and minerals (PGM), most commonly froodite (PdBi2), michenerite (PdTeBi), padrnaite (PdBiSe), sperrylite (PtAsz) and irarsite (IrAsS), have been analysed from the Jinchuan Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide deposit in the south western margin of the North China Craton in China. PGM are most common in undeformed altered samples formed as PGE were expelled from their magmatic base metal sulphide hosts during alteration and then subsequently partially removed during shearing. It is proposed that the Se-bearing PGM are associated with the presence of marbles in the host lithologies to the Jinchuan complex.
