Abstract

Due to the relevance of the tasks in mathematics the teaching and learning processes and, particularly, in the design and adequate selection of these, the present work focuses on characterizing a set of tasks proposed by secondary mathematics future on the concept of function, intended for ninth and tenth graders, levels in which the study of this topic is concentrated in the Costa Rican curriculum. We collect the proposals and analyse them using the content analysis method with a system of a priori categories that allows classifying each of the proposed tasks. As a synthesis, we perceive that future teachers show clear difficulties when posing tasks on the topic. In addition, we also detect a predominance of tasks focused not too much on symbolic representations and with low cognitive demand
