Los forrajes y su componente fibroso

Abstract

Las plantas forrajeras o aquellas utilizadas para la alimentación animal, han sido siempre un eslabón fundamental de la cadena alimenticia. Los pastos nativos, por ejemplo, soportaron el pastoreo de los animales mucho antes de que el hombre llegara a domesticarlos. Por lo tanto, los forrajes siempre han constituido una importante fuente de nutrientes en las raciones de los rumiantes. Hoy, lo mismo que en el pasado, los forrajes, a través de su conversión en leche y carne, continúan siendo una de las principales fuentes de nutrientes en la dieta del ser humano.
