Importancia del calostro en la crianza de terneras

Abstract

El calostro es la primera secreción producida por la glándula mamaria después del parto. Es especialmente rico en anticuerpos, los cuales proveen a la ternera su protección inmunológica durante las primeras semanas de vida. El calostro contiene un gran número de linfocitos, neutrófi los, macrófagos, factores de crecimiento y hormonas como la insulina y el cortisol.
