Desarrollo del rumen en terneras de leche

Abstract

La salud, el crecimiento y la productividad de las terneras recaen fuertemente en la nutrición y prácticas de manejo alimenticio. Cada ternera que nace en la finca representa una oportunidad para mantener o incrementar el tamaño del hato, para mejorarlo genéticamente o para aumentar el ingreso económico. El objetivo de criar terneras desde el nacimiento hasta el destete es optimizar el crecimiento y reducir los problemas de salud. Para lograrlo, es necesario entender su sistema digestivo y conocer las opciones alimenticias que permitan llenar sus necesidades nutricionales.
