Síntesis sobre los censos

Abstract

Como grandes proyectos de recopilación de datos, los censos de población deben consistir en una recolección de datos universal, simultánea, periódica y con empadronamiento individual. En Costa Rica, se han realizado 10 censos de población desde 1864, y 6 censos de vivienda desde 1949; estos últimos se han venido ejecutando en forma simultánea a los de población. Los resultados del censo de 2022 permitirán analizar temas relevantes de los útimos 11 años como los impactos de la pandemia por COVID-19, la movilidad poblacional, la transformación del entorno productivo, y el contexto de la transición demográfica avanzada que caracteriza a Costa Rica.
