A revision of Axinaea (Melastomataceae)

Abstract

Se comenta un libro (Cotton, Borchsenius & Balslev, 2014) sobre sistemática, ecología y distribución geográfica del género melastomatáceo neotropical Axinaea, que pertenece a la tribu Merianieae. Este estudio reconoce 41 especies distribuidas desde Costa Rica hasta Bolivia, entre 1100 y 3800 m de elevación, pero predominan en los Andes desde Venezuela hasta Bolivia.
