Análisis del Cuidado de Enfermería Quirúrgica durante el Periodo Preoperatorio en el Hospital DrCLVV

Abstract

Objective: This research was carried out in order to analyze the importance of the care provided by nurses to users, during the preoperative period in a public hospital. Material and Method: It is a study using the quantitative method, with descriptive analysis techniques such as the semi-structured questionnaire and observation. The sample consisted of one hundred users hospitalized in the general surgery service of the hospital. Results: Deficiencies or weaknesses were found in the care of the nursing professional in the preoperative period. The information deficit provided to users who are going to undergo surgery was revealed. It also came to light the importance of the permanent education of the nursing professional, as well as the extensive and permanent growing of the surgical nurse, to reduce the patient´s anxiety and fear when facing a surgical procedure. The nursing professional, due to the multiple administrative functions, has stopped applying the direct care of the user. However, this care important to conclude a correct postoperative period. It applies the three stages of the Perioperative period, reducing anxiety, stress, and ignorance regarding surgery. Conclusion: The nursing care required by users of the General Surgery service is based on comprehensive care and the resolution of needs. The need for a professional with knowledge of the perioperative complex is evident. It is also obvious the need for research on Care and Care Management to demonstrate a professional and humanized work in the field of Health.
