Dada la frecuencia con que se presentan los pólipos colorrectales, y comprendiendo su asociación con el desarrollo de cáncer colorrectal, en tanto que este es uno de los principales causantes de mortalidad por patología oncológica en el mundo, se hace una revisión bibliográfica sobre dicha patología, enfocada en los pólipos neoplásicos. Se revisa su clasificación, asociación con carcinoma colorrectal, estudios diagnósticos y tipos de abordaje, tanto endoscópicos como quirúrgicos, comparando sus implicaciones, evolución, recidiva y riesgo de recurrencia. También se analiza la importancia de un adecuado seguimiento en estos pacientes.
Colorectal polyps are common, they are associated with the development of colorectal cancer, and this is one of the main causes of mortality due to oncological pathology. For this reason, it is done this bibliographic review, focused on neoplastic polyps, their classification, association with colorectal cancer, diagnostic studies and types of approach, endoscopic and surgery, comparing their implications, evolution, relapse and recurrence. As well as the importance of the follow up of these patients.
