Historia del neoliberalismo en Costa Rica: la aparición en la contienda electoral, 1977-1978

Abstract

En este texto se analiza la irrupción del neoliberalismo como ideología y proyecto político, económico y social en Costa Rica en 1977-1978. En primer lugar, se presentan los antecedentes de ese proyecto ideológico. Luego, se explora el contexto de producción del proyecto socialdemócrata del Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN) después de 1953. Finalmente, se estudia la manera en que la campaña política de finales de la década de 1970 se volvió fundamental para reforzar una crítica al modelo de estado liberacionista, tanto en términos estructurales como de protección de la familia y el individuo.
