Abstract

Este trabajo es una parte de la tesis de grado, presentada por las autoras con el nombre Adaptación a Costa Rica de la Escala de desarrollo psicomotor de la primera infancia, de Brunet y Lézine. Constituye un instrumento que detecta, por medio de una aplicación sencilla, el nivel de desarrollo de una gran cantidad de capacidades básicas como son: las condiciones motrices, lingüísticas, sociales y personales, así como la conducta de adaptación ante los objetos del medio. La prueba fue adecuada al medio costarricense por medio de una rigurosa selección de la muestra y un análisis cuidadoso del grado de dificultad de los ítemes, así como de una entrevista a la madre del niño y con la creación de los coeficientes de desarrollo por área.
