POSTMENOPAUSIA: ¿DERRUMBE O RESURGIR DE LA SEXUALIDAD Y LA IDENTIDAD FEMENINAS?

Abstract

El presente artículo se propone como una síntesis de los principales hallazgos de investigación correspondientes a un estudio comprensivo-interpretativo basado en la Hermenéutica Profunda Psicoanalítica desarrollado con dos mujeres de mediana edad del Área Metropolitana respecto a sus vivencias de feminidad y sexualidad femenina en la postmenopausia. Partiendo de este acercamiento metodológico y de los aportes teóricos de estudios de género con orientación psicoanalítica, el estudio revela componentes intrapsíquicos e intersubjetivos comunes que comparten las mujeres entrevistadas en su vivencia del cese menstrual, tales como la idealización de la maternidad como esencia definitoria del ser mujer, la experiencia del placer sexual femenino al servicio de la pareja, la patologización de la ausencia menstrual y, finalmente, un vacío representacional respecto a nuevos destinos para la pulsión sexual femenina y espacios alternativos de envestidura narcisista en la edad mediana. Aunado a ello se aprecia la emergencia de resistencia y ambivalencia frente a la significación tradicional de la menopausia.
