LOCUS DE CONTROL Y SELECCIÓN TEMÁTICA TELEVISIVA EN COLEGIALES COSTARRICENSES

Abstract

Debates actuales sobre los efectos que producen los medios masivos de comunicación en las dinámicas sociales centran su interés en las características personales del receptor, su forma de seleccionar informaciones, atribuciones y posteriores asimilaciones. Este informe toma como objeto la relación entre un conjunto de dimensiones cognitivas denominadas modelo locus de control (LOC) y la atención dirigida a buscar en el conjunto de programas televisivos aquellos que ofrezcan ciertos contenidos relevantes para el self, denominada selección temática televisiva (STT), en una muestra de receptores adolescentes. Aunque las dimensiones del modelo locus de control se correlacionaron estadísticamente de forma congruente a como se expone en su formulación teórica, lo hizo de forma débil con la selección temática televisiva. Esto se atribuye a deficiencias en algunas de las directrices del instrumento que debió construirse en ausencia de alguno en el debate internacional
