Abstract

Un tema importante hoy día a la hora de realizar ajustes a las protecciones es tener el conocimiento y la certeza de los parámetros de los elementos a proteger. Este llega a ser un punto neurálgico en el conocimiento de la protección de un sistema eléctrico de potencia, pues gran parte de los equipos carecen de la información necesaria para realizar los ajustes y su debida protección; en especial por que en el caso de los transformadores de potencia, tienen un costo adicional a las pruebas básicas y su costo puedría llegar a ser considerable. Dicho valor es primordial para proteger equipos en conexión estrella principalmente, debido a que estos tienen un conductor a neutro, que normalmente está sólidamente aterrizado. Así mismo, a la hora de realizar estudios de sobretensiónes el valor de impedancia de secuencia cero toma importancia. El modelo de componentes simétricas desarrollado por C.L. Fortescue, establece las condiciones para el cálculo de las fallas trifásicas, bifásicas, bifásicas a tierra y monofásicas. Las dos últimas poseen componentes de secuencia cero, por lo que su cálculo es de gran trascendencia. La siguiente nota técnica desarrolla de manera sistemática cómo obtener dicho parámetro de acuerdo a la normas IEC e IEEE y apegado a la teoría que fundamenta este concepto.
