La localidad fosilífera del río Nacaome se ubica en los depósitos fluviales del lecho del río de donde toma su nombre, a 400 m al oeste del cruce a Copal, sobre la carretera que conduce a Quebrada Honda de Nicoya, provincia de Guanacaste (Fig. 1), en las coordenadas 236.700 N – 391.650 E, hoja Matambú 3146 III, IGNCR (Laurito et al., 1993). Esta localidad fue dada a conocer inicialmente por el señor Vetsalio Rivas en el año de 1978 con el hallazgo de un ejemplar juvenil de Cuvieronius hyodon restaurado por el Dr. Rudolf Fischer y determinado por Laurito (1988, 1990). ; The fossiliferous locality is Nacaome River fluvial deposits located in the bed of river from which it takes its name, 400 m west Copal's crossing on the road Quebrada Honda to Nicoya, Province Guanacaste, at coordinates 236,700 N - 391 650 E, Matambú sheet 3146 III, IGNCR (Laurito et al., 1993). This town was given to initially know Vetsalio Mr. Rivas in the year 1978 with the discovery of a copy hyodon Cuvieronius youth restored by the Dr. Rudolf Fischer and determined by Laurito (1988, 1990).
