Abstract

El Instituto de Historia de Nicaragua y Centroamérica (IHNCA-UCA) en colaboración con la Cátedra Wilhelm y Alexander von Humboldt en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) organizó el primer encuentro regional de instituciones dedicadas al resguardo, preservación y difusión de documentación sobre Centroamérica. Este taller se realizó con el propósito de conocer sobre los esfuerzos realizados por las diferentes instituciones y estableces alianzas para la realización de trabajo conjunto relacionado con la gestión de patrimonio cultural documental; además, se planteó la necesidad de formar una red de instituciones participantes y la coordinación de un proyecto de digitalización de revistas culturales centroamericanas. Este primer taller contó con la participación de 35 profesionales en los campos de gestión de la información, informática y preservación documental provenientes de 16 unidades documentales, de 8 países de la región centroamericana y el Caribe.
