Abstract

El Instituto de Historia de Nicaragua y Centroamérica (IHNCA-UCA) en colaboración con la Cátedra Wilhelm y Alexander von Humboldt en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) organizó el segundo encuentro regional de instituciones dedicadas al resguardo, preservación y difusión de documentación sobre Centroamérica. Este II Taller Centroamericano sobre Repositorios Digitales se realizó con el propósito de dar seguimiento a los acuerdos adquiridos en el primer encuentro llevado a cabo los días 6 y 7 de mayo de 2014. Además, persiguió el objetivo de consolidar la red centroamericana de instituciones miembros e impulsar el desarrollo del proyecto piloto de digitalización conjunta de revistas culturales centroamericanas publicadas durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Este segundo taller contó con la participación de 31 profesionales en los campos de gestión de la información, informática y preservación documental provenientes de 15 unidades documentales, de 6 países de la región centroamericana y el Caribe.
