Abstract The conquest of America has always been presented from the European or Western point of view. Films like Nicolas Echavarría ́s Cabeza de Vaca propose, from an equally distant point of view, an appreciation which integrates both cultural protagonists by means of an historical figure which leads to a discussion about different forms of constructing reality.
