Planes Reguladores y su importancia para el sector agropecuario

Abstract

Los Planes Reguladores son la principal herramienta que tiene una Municipalidad (Gobierno Local) para ordenar su territorio; sin embargo, en muchos casos, los ciudadanos muestran poco interés cuando se está elaborando el Plan Regulador del cantón donde viven o trabajan. Basándose en la experiencia del Programa de Investigación en Desarrollo Urbano Sostenible ProDUS de la Universidad de Costa Rica, en la realización de Planes Reguladores en zonas como Pococí, Corredores, Orotina, San Carlos, Pérez Zeledón, entre otros, se ha podido corroborar la relevancia de esta herramienta para el desarrollo de las diferentes actividades económicas de cada cantón, incluyendo el sector agropecuario. Con este breve trabajo, se pretende mostrar la importancia que tiene para todos los costarricenses, en especial para el productor agropecuario, participar en las diferentes etapas que conforman este proceso de ordenamiento territorial.
