Características del agroturismo como actividad productiva en Costa Rica

Abstract

El papel del sector agropecua rio ha sido de vital importancia en la economía costarricense; desde tiempos de la colonia y debido a una serie de factores relaciona dos con la estructura social que se impulso durante muchos años, el sector agropecuario ha estado ligado al sector socioeconómico y político del país (Cortés 1994), junto al sector agropecuario, el turismo es el eje principales de in gresos de divisas del país. La organización mundial del turismo OMT reporta para el año 2006 un ingreso de 1725 000 turistas a Costa Rica, un 2, 7% más con respecto al año 2005. Según el instituto Costarricense de Turismo ICT para el año 2006 se generaron 1663 millones de dólares america nos por concepto de la actividad turística, lo que refuerza la impor tancia de esta actividad para esta nación.
