Mujeres trans en San José: vulnerabilidad estructural y calidad de vida

Abstract

Esta investigación analiza, desde un enfoque de interseccionalidad y vulnerabilidad estructural, los distintos factores socioculturales que determinan la manera en que las mujeres trans mayores de 18 años que viven en San José, Costa Rica. Se recurrió a una estrategia metodológica cualitativa (entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupo focal) con mujeres trans y personas que trabajan con dicha población y se identificaron factores como discriminación por género, violencia por prejuicio, violencia estructural, pobreza, procesos migratorios forzados, redes de apoyo, expectativa de vida, falta de acceso a servicios del Estado y vulnerabilidad estructural como elementos clave para la calidad de vida de estas mujeres.
