Abstract

Environmental citizenship implies the active and responsible participation of people in the resolution of problems and decision-making related to the environment, promoting favorable behavior towards it. This paper aims to analyse the entry profile and the change in the environmental attitudes of Costa Rican primary school students. The research follows a quasi-experimental design, applying a scale in a pre-test and post-test to both a control group and an experimental group with an inquiry proposal. It is concluded that both groups began the process with similar entry profiles. Subsequently, the environmental attitudes of the experimental group registered a significant improvement compared to those of the control group. The designed activities not only promote environmental citizenship, but also strengthen students' environmental attitudes.
