Actitudes sexistas en el alumnado de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria

Abstract

El sexismo es una actitud discriminatoria hacia las personas del sexo opuesto infravalorándolas o, simplemente, haciendo distinción de las personas por su sexo. Generalmente está asociado a la actitud prejuiciosa por parte de los hombres con las mujeres, la cual se da desde edades tempranas y desemboca en una desigualdad de género. Por ello, se presenta este estudio, cuyo objetivo principal es investigar el sexismo ambivalente en el alumnado de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria mediante el cuestionario ISA-Adolescentes (de Lemus, Castillo, Moya, Padilla y Ryan, 2008). Se contó con la participación de estudiantes de ESO de dos institutos de Badajoz. Tras la aplicación del instrumento se realizaron los análisis estadísticos pertinentes para contrastar las hipótesis planteadas. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes de ESO presentan niveles medios y medio-altos de sexismo ambivalente y que estos son más elevados en los chicos y en el alumnado de menor edad. Esto pone de manifiesto que la estructura jerárquica patriarcal de la sociedad sigue perpetuándose con el paso del tiempo, manteniéndose la desigualdad de género
