Abstract

Third-to-last-syllable stress words are in vogue at a certain level of speech in current spanish. Their use introduces various and divergent linguistic aspects having lexicological, lexicographical, morpho-syntactic and phonetic peculiarities. It is interesting to note that style in proparoxitone words is greatly affected by this phenomenon.
