Abstract

Este trabajo forma parte de un proyecto más amplio que tiene dados ya los primeros pasos: el estudio de los sistemas urbanos extremeños. Conocer el nacimiento y evolución de las ciudades o pueblos y de su estructura urbana, nos puede llevar a un planteamiento más coherente de la conservación de nuestro entorno vital y monumental, y sobre todo a la revisión crítica del futuro del mundo en que nos movemos y que seguimos más o menos creando. Granadilla llama la atención del investigador por varios aspectos que son percibidos inmediatamente de dos maneras. Primero: contemplando el plano que Francisco Coello realizó hacia 1850 (lámina 1) y que nosotros reproducimos aquí. Segundo: al visitar el pueblo en la actualidad. Son dos experiencias que creemos justifican completamente el ánimo del análisis. A través de ambos hechos nos encontramos con una estructura que forma parte de un sistema medieval, el cual después de haber pervivido durante siglos en un ecosistema físico e histórico favorecedor, está ahora llamado a desaparecer muy rápidamente por el cambio total de dicho ecosistema, a causa de acontecimientos que apuntamos, es decir, por una alteración de los elementos que constituían el ecosistema, producida por una situación de emergencia que desajusta totalmente su equilibrio.
