Masa ósea y masa grasa corporal en mujeres premenopáusicas sanas de Extremadura

Abstract

La masa grasa ha sido ampliamente relacionada con la DMO, pero no así la asociación entre ésta y su distribución respecto a la DMO en mujeres premenopáusicas y no conocemos estudios de este tipo realizados en Extremadura y España. El objetivo de este estudio es esclarecer los efectos de la masa grasa y la masa magra sobre la masa ósea en mujeres premenopáusicas sanas de Extremadura. Las mujeres se reclutaron voluntariamente de una encuesta poblacional sobre salud realizada en la provincia de Cáceres (España). A todas las mujeres incluidas en el estudio se les realizó una historia clínica completa y una densitometría mediante absorciometría dual de rayos X (DEXA) en columna lumbar y en cadera y mediante ultrasonido óseo cuantitativo en falanges y tomografía computerizada cuantitativa periférica (pQCT). Para conocer los factores de riesgo implicados en la enfermedad se realizarán estudios de variables clínicas, hábitos y estilos de vida, de actividad física, antropométricos y de composición corporal mediante bioimpedancia.
