Abstract

The rabbit is one of the most used species in the field of biomedical experimentation in all its branches, and specifically in surgical research. The anesthetic techniques described for this species, although very diverse, do not present a high safety margin, which means that the rabbit is considered the most difficult experimental animal species to anesthetize without a high risk. The rabbit poses a series of problems that complicate the various anesthetic techniques.
