Trabajo doméstico decente : ¡Venga conciliemos!

Abstract

La presente cartilla busca acercar a trabajadoras domésticas, empleadoras, miembros de la academia, líderes y comunidad en general a conocer algunas ideas básicas sobre el trabajo doméstico, las normas y leyes vigentes que lo regulan en Colombia, y las condiciones laborales de quienes realizan esta labor; y a partir de las experiencias de mujeres afrocolombianas que se dedican al trabajo doméstico y el cuidado en Medellín, pretende dar cuenta de ciertas estrategias que permitan la conciliación entre los derechos laborales y sus vidas familiares toda vez que las trabajadoras domésticas se dedican a cuidar a otras familias, con lo que desplazan el cuidado de las propias. Este texto es resultado de la investigación “Condiciones familiares y sociolaborales de las mujeres afrocolombianas dedicadas al trabajo doméstico y el cuidado en la ciudad de Medellín”, desarrollada durante los años 2017 y 2018..
