Abstract

The research project has as purpose to design a cost structure and accounting valuation of inventories and biological assets aimed at SMEs dedicated to pig farms, into the framework of current regulations. For which a methodology is used, with a qualitative approach, with non-probabilistic sampling, using the interview as tools applied to veterinary medical professionals, zootechnicians, accountants and pig farmers. The analysis of the results indicates that the accounting cost structure has to be based on the cost method for production cycles, having identified all fixed costs, variable and mixed costs of the farm, in addition to taking into account different variables that make the process difficult, such as mortality, birth rate, physiological changes, climate, etc. these variables make it necessary to use valuations. Calculating this data, and by means of compatible flat files, the cost can be entered within the accounting software that is available, this way the financial statements will reveal the economic reality of the entity and decisions can be made based on the accounting information.
