Importancia de la seguridad privada en la prevención del secuestro extorsivo

Abstract

Observando la historia de Colombia al ingresar al milenio se puede establecer que el secuestro extorsivo dejó grandes dividendos a favor de los grupos armados al margen de la ley quienes practicaban en esta clase de hechos en contra de la dignidad humana del pueblo colombiano y sus residentes extranjeros, paralelamente ubicó nuestro país en los escalafones más altos de riesgo de secuestro en el mundo, aproximadamente ocho casos se presentaban por día, los departamentos más afectados a lo largo y ancho del territorio nacional estaban fuertemente relacionados con el progreso y presencia de empresas multinacionales, un muestra palpable entre los Departamentos más afectados fue: Antioquia, Cesar, Cundinamarca, Valle del Cauca, Tolima y Meta. En los últimos cinco años el secuestro ha señalado una tendencia a la baja, sin embargo en el año 2010 se observó un leve crecimiento con respecto al año 2009 del 17,50 %, es importante definir dentro del contexto de reportes de Fondelibertad desde el año 1999 hasta el año 2011 se conocieron reportes de secuestro extorsivo en un número de personas de 12.529, En la Gestión de Unidad Nacional de Fiscalías.
