Islamofobia en la Francia contemporánea

Abstract

The conjuncture of the attacks to the weekly Charlie Hebdo in Paris on January 7, 2015, revived the discussion of the ethnocultural racist towards Muslims and their impact on the larger Moslem community in Western Europe. The main objective of this work is to analyze the impacts of Islamophobic feeling of society and French institutions in different types of violence directed at the Muslim community in France, and the difficulty of multiculturalism, product of construction a strong French identity. The Gallic country has a xenophobic historical trajectory, which necessitates the use of a Historical Analytical Method for understanding the identity formation leading to the formation of Islamophobic feelings. Islamophobia is a kind of racism, that in France it seems supported by the identity and fear produced by the Islamic fundamentalist attacks, evident in the belief that Islam remains abroad, but majority of the French Muslims are European citizens.
