El medio actual en el que nos encontramos, en donde cada vez parece más marcada la necesidad de implementar mecanismos que permitan una consonancia entre el control, el autocontrol y la gestión transparente, motiva la realización de este ensayo para el análisis frente a cómo hacer posible la gestión transparente al interior de las organizaciones, implementando la lucha contra la corrupción, fomentando una cultura del autocontrol y desarrollando un sistema de control eficiente. Es por ello que a continuación se presenta el marco general de control interno con la implementación del Modelo Estándar de Control Interno (MECI) y su principio de autocontrol, e igualmente se desarrolla una revisión del contexto del Programa Presidencial de Modernización, Eficiencia, Transparencia y Lucha contra la Corrupción y la situación actual de corrupción en Colombia.
