Abstract

La materialización del crecimiento urbano en primera medida es la construcción de infraestructura vial junto a los servicios públicos que permiten demarcar las zonas a donde la ciudad quiere crecer, por ende, la planificación de la construcción de esta infraestructura es crucial para que el crecimiento se ejecute de manera organizada. La ausencia de la planificación puede generar que una ciudad presente problemáticas como la congestión vehicular que impacta directamente en la calidad de vida los habitantes de dicha ciudad. Bogotá es mundialmente conocida por sus problemas de congestión vehicular y aun así contempla grandes planes de crecimiento. Ante ello se realiza un estudio para evaluar el estado actual de la infraestructura vial de Bogotá y la proyectada, todo esto logrado bajo el procesamiento y análisis de los datos con herramientas de sistemas de información geográfica. El resultado nos permite validar cuantitativamente el estado de la ciudad y compararla con otras ciudades del mundo.

The materialization of urban growth begins with the construction of road infrastructure along with public services, which help define the areas where the city intends to expand. Therefore, planning the construction of such infrastructure is crucial for ensuring that growth occurs in an organized manner. The lack of planning can lead to problems such as traffic congestion, which directly affects the quality of life of the city’s inhabitants. Bogotá is globally known for its traffic congestion issues and still envisions large-scale expansion plans. In response, a study is being conducted to evaluate the current and projected state of Bogotá’s road infrastructure. This assessment was carried out using geographic information system (GIS) tools to process and analyze data. The results allow us to quantitatively assess the city’s condition and compare it with other cities around the world.
