Los municipios en Colombia, especialmente los de sexta categoría representando el 86,39%, se enfrentan a un gran desafio: la escasez de recursos, que limitan la capacidad para atender las necesidades básicas de sus habitantes y desarrollar proyectos que impulsen el crecimiento local. Con base a lo anterior surgió la presente investigación, la cual tuvo por objetivo principal analizar las estrategias clave de recaudo de ingresos en los municipios de sexta categoría por medio de la consulta bibliográfica y estructuración del referente teórico, con el fin de identificar cómo estas permiten el fortalecimiento de la capacidad de gestión financiera de los municipios y de este modo, propender a la mejora en la prestación de servicios públicos y el desarrollo integral de la comunidad. Asi pues, para incrementar los ingresos propios en los municipios se propone la implementación de estrategias que incluyan la educación tributaria, la formalización de comercios, actualización de bases tributarias, diversificación de ingresos por medio del turismo, entre otros.
Municipalities in Colombia, especially those in the sixth category representing 86.39%, face a great challenge: the scarcity of resources, which limits the ability to meet the basic needs of their inhabitants and develop projects that promote local growth. Based on the above, the present investigation arose, which had as its main objective to analyze the key income collection strategies in sixth category municipalities through bibliographic consultation and structuring of the theoretical reference, in order to identify how these allow the strengthening of the financial management capacity of the municipalities and in this way, tend to improvement in the provision of public services and the comprehensive development of the community. Thus, to increase the municipalities' own income, the implementation of strategies is proposed that include tax education, the formalization of businesses, updating of tax bases, diversification of income through tourism, among others.
