Calidad del agua del Humedal La Conejera

Abstract

The multi-year analysis (2016-2022) of the physicochemical parameters of the La Conejera Wetland reveals a trend of gradual reduction in contamination by domestic and agroindustrial waste. Although there is a decrease in coliforms and total suspended solids, the water quality still does not show a significant improvement. The presence of organic and inorganic contaminants is highlighted, such as heavy metals (chromium and cadmium) associated with domestic and industrial activities. Turbidity, although decreasing, remains high and is linked to processes of biological decomposition. The water conductivity suggests the moderate presence of salts derived from industrial discharges. The correlation between parameters indicates a high organic load, probably non-biological, related to industrial activities. Despite some improvements, water quality in the La Conejera Wetland remains concerning, emphasizing the need for environmental management measures for its conservation.
