Abstract

In order to maintain the quality in the masonry and in the wall tarnishing stage, a research was carried out using calcium carbonate as a fine aggregate, that is a material found in the department of Huila, in where there are deposits or large exploitation quarries of minerals that can generate competitiveness by replacing conventional fine aggregates, without neglecting the requirements of regulations and quality standards that allow the normal development of the different architectural and engineering works; Samples with traditional and local materials were analyzed, allowing to compare their resistance. Samples with different percentages of dosages were established with the aggregates selected to the execution of the different laboratory tests (calcium carbonate and sand from Las Ceibas river), and the compression resistance is defined as a comparative parameter, clearly with a previous definition of aggregate granulometry, air content, impurity content and fluidity of the mortar, to replace conventional aggregates in areas where they do not have the natural resources that meet the technical conditions established in the NSR-10 and the Colombian Technical Standard 2240.
