Abstract

The generation of leachates containing biogenic amines such as cadaverine and putrescine, occurs by the decomposition of bodies buried underground as a result of bacterial activity, these substances when ingested can cause problems to human health, also when entering the environment they produce pollution to nearby soils and water bodies. Currently, the study of these contaminants has not been treated in depth, so its movement in the soil and entry into underground and surface water bodies is unknown, In this sense, the present study was formulated in which the concentrations of putrescine in groundwater in three wells were measured, obtaining average values of 0.42 mg/l, 0.774 mg/l and 0.88 mg/l in the vicinity of cemeteries in northern Bogota, with the reference concentrations, its behavior was evaluated using the differential equation of longitudinal dispersion in porous media proposed by Ogata and Banks, which showed that the presence of the pollutant in the environment and space is conditioned by the generation rate of putrescine, the number of burials of corpses per day, the speed and direction of flow and the texture of the soil.
