El cibercrimen en Colombia y su evolución en los últimos dos años (2020-2021)

Abstract

El presente ensayo tiene como propósito revisar la evolución que ha tenido el cibercrimen y sus diferentes modalidades (skiming, carta nigeriana, vishing, malware, phishing, smishing, ransomware, cryptojacking), a lo largo de los años 2020 y 2021 en Colombia y su recrudecimiento con la pandemia por el brote del virus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Se analizan las estrategias implementadas por los ciberdelincuentes para ejecutar sus fraudes y actos delictivos, muchas de ellas centradas en el uso de la ingeniería social y que aprovechan las vulnerabilidades humanas para acceder a información sensible de la víctima; así mismo, se analizan las estrategias utilizadas por el Ministerio de Defensa para mitigar las consecuencias del ciberdelito. Se realiza una proyección de las medidas que se tienen al alcance para mitigar los riesgos del cibercrimen desde la perspectiva de las personas, las empresas que ofrecen servicios informáticos y las autoridades competentes, tales como la Policía Nacional de Colombia, la Fiscalía General de la Nación y el Ministerio de Defensa. Finalmente, se ofrecen respetuosas recomendaciones a las entidades nacionales que luchan por prevenir y combatir la ciberdelincuencia en nuestro país. The purpose of this essay is to review the evolution of cybercrime and its different modalities (skiming, nigerian letter, vishing, malware, phishing, smishing, ransomware, cryptojacking), throughout the years 2020 and 2021 in Colombia and its worsening with the pandemic due to the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus. The strategies implemented by cybercriminals to execute their frauds and criminal acts are analyzed, many of them focused on the use of social engineering and that take advantage of human vulnerabilities to access sensitive information of the victim, likewise, the strategies are analyzed. used by the Ministry of Defense to mitigate the consequences of cybercrime. A projection is made of the measures available to mitigate the risks of cybercrime from the perspective of people, companies that offer computer services and competent authorities, such as the National Police of Colombia, the Attorney General's Office, and the Ministry of Defense. Finally, respectful recommendations are offered to national entities that tend to prevent and combat cybercrime in our country. Especialización
