La medición de la pobreza de un país ha sido siempre un problema complejo, entre otros, por la tendencia a establecer parámetros objetivos, cuantitativos, estadísticos. Así se traza una llamada "línea de pobreza" en términos de ingresos "per capita": por debajo de 7000 dólares anuales, por ejemplo, se catalogan como pobres, los habitantes de EE.UU., y hay países que no alcanzan siquiera a la tercera parte de esos 7000 dólares, como ingreso promedio de toda la población. ¿Cuál sería la "línea de pobreza" de estos últimos?
