El sector minero en muchos países, es un sector figurativo en su economía, pero es también, muy importante enfocarse de igual manera en él medio ambiente, debido a que a largo plazo si no se tiene una buena gestión de estos procedimientos, puede generarse afectaciones inimaginables en la atmósfera, en los suelos o en el agua a nivel superficial y subterránea, todos estos aspectos se interrelacionan, debido a la informalidad minera, al conflicto social y las condiciones laborales, que este oficio conlleva. Por lo tanto, el presente ensayo se enfoca principalmente en la dimensión ambiental y ecológica del desarrollo, de acuerdo con esto, se realiza un análisis argumentativo con el objetivo de evidenciar las razones por las cuales el gobierno colombiano no puede mitigar los riesgos ambientales resultantes de la explotación minera por completo, a pesar de las estrategias que se han implementado para minimizar el impacto que este produce, y demostrar que cualquier tipo de metodología utilizada para la extracción de estos recursos no renovables impactan de manera negativa en el medio ambiente a largo plazo, lo que perjudica a la economía y a la sociedad.

Therefore, this essay focuses mainly on the environmental and ecological dimension of development, in accordance with this, an argumentative analysis is carried out with the aim of showing the reasons why the Colombian government cannot mitigate the environmental risks resulting from mining completely, despite the strategies that have been implemented to minimize the impact that it produces, and demonstrate that any type of methodology used to extract these non-renewable resources has a negative impact on the environment in the long term, which harms the economy and society.
