Los avances tecnológicos han sido fundamentales en el desarrollo organizacional, ya que han generado una fuerte tendencia de cambio en la naturaleza del trabajo. Por medio de este documento se pretenden identificar las habilidades blandas, orientadas a la transformación digital, que el contador público debe poseer hoy. Se mostrará cuáles de las habilidades descritas, junto con conocimientos teóricos, técnicos y procedimentales, permiten al profesional contable adaptarse a los retos derivados de la transformación digital. Se destacará que, a pesar de que el desempleo se incrementará en el futuro, no será debido a la falta de trabajos; sino a la falta de trabajadores que tengan las habilidades requeridas para llevar a cabo los nuevos empleos disponibles.

Technological advances have been essential regarding organizational development, given that they’ve generated a strong trend of change in the work’s nature. Furthermore, this document aims for the identification of soft skills, focused on digital transformation, that the public accountants must possess nowadays. The skills described, together with theoretical, technical and procedural knowledge, will be proven to allow the accounting professionals to adapt to the challenges derived from digital transformation. It will be necessary to highlight that, despite the fact that unemployment will increase in the future, it will not be due to a lack of jobs; but because of the lack of workers with the required skills to carry out the new jobs available.
