Estudios de Fertilidad de Polen en Accesiones de Uchuva (Physalis peruviana L.)

Abstract

En esta investigación se caracterizó la fertilidad del polen de 46 accesiones de uchuva, con el fin de tomar decisiones para el desarrollo de un programa de mejoramiento mediante la realización de cruzamientos dirigidos. Este estudio se realizó en el Centro de Investigación La Selva (CORPOICA), en el municipio de Rionegro (Antioquia, Colombia). Para la estandarización de la solución germinativa fueron evaluadas dos fuentes de carbono: sacarosa y glucosa, en tres dosis diferentes: 1,0; 1,5 y 2,0 g/L. Para la de germinación de polen de uchuva, los resultados sugieren que es apropiado utilizar una solución con sacarosa en cualquiera de las concentraciones evaluadas, con adición de ácido bórico a una concentración de 1.0 ppm y un dispersante (Twin 80). Los valores de germinación estuvieron entre 3,70 y 53,06 %. El 17,39% de las accesiones no presentaron germinación del polen. Para las pruebas de viabilidad se usó tinción mediante una solución de acetocarmin al 2%; los valores de viabilidad fluctuaron entre 54,12 y 98,82 %. Mediante las pruebas de fertilidad de polen realizadas se pudo establecer que algunas accesiones (39, 55, 65 y 83); presentan problemas tanto en la viabilidad como en la germinación del polen por lo que su uso en programas de fitomejoramiento se verá limitado a su uso como genotipo madre.
