Inoculación Experimental de Tres Especies Hospederas de Fitoplasmas en Bogotá, Colombia

Abstract

Los Urapanes (Fraxinus sp.) en Colombia presentan problemas sanitarios como la infección con fitoplasmas del grupo 16SrRNA VII. Para tratar de superar la dificultad que significa trabajar con árboles de gran tamaño, se realizaron ensayos para buscar huéspedes vegetales alternativos que mejoraran la accesibilidad a estos patógenos. En este estudio se hicieron ensayos de inoculación de fitoplasmas de Urapán, permitiendo la visita libre de insectos, sobre cuatro especies vegetales de las familias Solanaceae y Apiaceae como potenciales hospederos alternativos. Una alta proporción de las plantas de Apium graveolens expuestas a insectos (86%) resultó infectada con fitoplasmas, según la sintomatología desarrollada, test DAPI y pruebas moleculares. Una proporción menor de las plantas expuestas de Nicotiana tabacum (50%) y Nicotiana debneyi (10%) presentaron síntomas asociados a infección por fitoplasmas y fueron positiva por test DAPI, mientras que las plantas de Lycopersicum esculentum expuestas no resultaron infectadas. Observaciones mediante el test DAPI mostraron que en las plantas infectadas, los fitoplasmas no presentaron una tendencia marcada a concentrarse en ningún tejido en particular
