Abstract

The following trial was carried out in order to demonstrate the affectation that citizens have had due to the use of their devices or computer equipment by cybercriminals who, using different modalities of Cybercrime, have taken advantage of these times of Pandemic COVID-19 in Bogotá D.C. The analyzed information allowed a comparison of the different forms of Cybercrime denounced by citizens in the 20 localities of Bogotá and demonstrates from 10 variables the dynamics that have impacted the population having to use their equipment or devices in compliance with the mandatory preventive isolation measure opening a window of opportunity for cybercriminals. It was concluded that once the tasks at home were increased as a result of confinement, the general public was exposed to different cyber-attacks, these criminal activities went from 33 forms of Cybercrime (1.025 complaints in the period 2.019) to 41 modalities (2.016 complaints in the period 2.020).
