Abstract

For several decades now, vehicles have been incorporated almost to the daily life of society, aiming at improving people's quality of life; However, in parallel, different scenarios arise that can lead to an increase in environmental pollution in the proper sense of the management of hazardous waste, which although they are handled correctly in most scenarios, many times when reaching consumers They can generate a negative environmental impact and in large proportions unknown to the owners of the vehicles. The destination given to waste such as: waste of lubricants, packaging or containers of chemical substances used in maintenance processes, oils, hydrocarbon waste, among others, does not generate much interest, so it is necessary to inquire about the relevant aspects to take into account and increase responsibility as consumers in competing with the automotive sector and thus reduce the impact on the environment. Thus, this essay seeks to expand the panorama of environmental management towards the improvement of the processes of storage, treatment and correct final disposal of hazardous waste, focusing on the use of vehicles and related activities such as maintenance services, seeking the participation of the automotive sector consumer in order to strengthen environmental compliance.
